Friendly , Affectionate, Caring- These are some of the words that come to mind when people refer to Maharaj To us , he is an Image of Condensed Love.

Kumar Rajneesh who is now based out of US, Shared this :

“Once I was in a dham where he was assistant warden, I woke up in the morning unable to stand, not sure what happened and he carried me all the way to hospital.”

Some of us said ” I remember that he acted like a friend.

Nityananda Mishra da. Most alumni my age and my seniors would remember him.

When he was in 90s and was not keeping well, Maharaj took time to visit his him and meet him. Our last memories of him are the videos which Maharaj Shared with us.

Love & Servant Leadership

Letter from US in 1894 to Swami Shivananda ji Maharaj ,

(2nd President 1922 – 1934)

…… In the meanwhile live in harmony at any price. The world cares little for principles. They care for persons. They will hear with patience the words of a man they like, however nonsense, and will not listen to anyone they do not like.

Think of this and modify your conduct accordingly. Everything will come all right. Be the servant if you will rule. That is the real secret. Your love will tell even if your words be harsh.

Instinctively men feel the love clothed in whatever language.’

“It is my wish to convert this Math into a chief centre of spiritual practices and the culture of knowledge. The power that will have its rise from here will flood the whole world and turn the course of men’s lives into different channels; from this place will spring forth ideals which will be the harmony of Knowledge, Devotion, Yoga, and Work; at a nod from the men of this Math a life-giving impetus will in time be given to the remotest corners of the globe; while all true seekers after spirituality will in course of time assemble here.”

Question 1 :  Motto of RK Math and Mission

The Motto of Rk Math  &  Math is ATMANO MOKHSARTHAM , Jaagat Hitay Cha .

I do not covet earthly kingdom, or heaven,  or even salvation.
The only thing I desire is the removal of the miseries of the  afflicted.

Swami Vivekananda’s

The poor, the illiterate, the ignorant, the afflicted-let these be your God. Know that the service of these alone is the highest religion.

As a monk of RK Mission and We have seen you in a variety of settings Doing the JAGAT HITAY .. What is your Message to Alumni about this Motto and Implications for the Alumni , Current students and Those who wish to Associate with RK Mission in any capacity

Question 2 :  Your Journey in RK Mission

What has been your experience as  Monk at Deoghar , Patna & Muzaffarpur

From a very limited interaction with the outside General public other than  to Being fully in Public Service , What are the KInd of experiences do you have had ?

IN the Various Activities of RK Mission eg at Deoghar and Muzaffarpur ,where you are currently the In charge ,What are some of the ways in which we could contribute to Ramakrishna Movement

Question 4 :  Institutional Debt We owe as Alumni

Madras. As Victoria Hall,

In a brief speech he told the people how India, through her love of God, had expanded the limited love of the family into love of country and of humanity. He urged them to maintain their enthusiasm and to give him all the help he required to do great things for India.

https://www.ramakrishnavivekananda.info/vivekananda_biography/10_return.htm

“Swamiji, how can I best help you?”

His answer was, “LOVE INDIA!”

https://ramakrishnavivekananda.info/swamieastwest/2_files/1-31.html

There was a wealthy American lady called Josephine McLeod who loved India. In the year 1895

In a letter to her, Swami Vivekananda invited her to visit saying, “Yes, come, if you want filth and degradation and poverty and many loin cloths talking religion. Don’t come if you want anything else. We cannot bear one more criticism.”

Josephine McLeod had once asked the Swami how she could serve him, and he had replied, “Love India.” After Swami Vivekananda passed away on July 4th 1902, Josephine McLeod spent her life doing exactly what the Swami had asked her to do.

Sargachi . Swami Akhandananda Maharaj .

Lamented that Those who pass out from there , rarely even care to look back.

Swami Akhandananda had started an Ashrama at Sargachi and orphan boys were brought up with care. When they came of age many went away without taking leave of Swami Akhandananda. One glance at his tearful face would convey to the most casual observer the motherly heart that he had.

One day he said:

‘I felt sad to think how some of the boys leave me, even though they received more care from me than they might have got from their own parents. They feel no attraction; they don’t even care to look back; they have no love.”

Such were the thoughts passing through my mind, when

Master said to me from within:

“My dear boy, worldly love can never be yours. You are surrounded by my love alone, and there can be no other attachments for you.” Then I understood the reason. Peace came back to my heart. They may stay or leave; what do I care? It is just a temporary relationship.’

Thakur told in dream – They have been deprived for ages, In this Life they will have Bhoga and it’s ok .

We observe the same even today .

The students at RK Mission are under care of Tyagi Sanyasis .

And We do owe a debt to the Institution. Majority get busy with their own lives , and it seems as if they have nothing more to do with the alma mater

Even if many Alumni may not directly be in Touch with RK Mission or its monks or various activities , Still Bulk of them are Giving Meaningful service to Society , through Various Professions. So that Efforts to Nurture them have not gone to waste.

RK Mission Does lay the foundation of their Future Life and

Which is strong one .

What is Your Opinion on This Issue –

Alumni Not doing enough for alma mater , even though within capacity to do so ?

How to increase the Love towards the Institution or RK Mission Movement ?

Letter From Almora dated 11 July 1897 Written to Swami Shuddhananda Ji ,

(5th President 1938)

1927 he succeeded Swami Saradananda, the first Secretary of the Mission and held that office till 1934.

Since the passing away of Swami Vivekananda, he was in a great measure responsible for the ideological aspect of the training of the young members of the Order, and numerous persons had their introduction to the scriptures and the spirit of Swamiji through him.

….you must remember I expect more from my children than from my brethren. I want each one of my children to be a hundred times greater than I could ever be. Everyone of you must be a giant—must, that is my word……

RK Mission has Limited Number of Monks and there is thus a limit to the number of hospitals and Schools colleges it Would manage directly.

As such , Individuals inspired by the ideal of Ramakrishna Movement have a scope

, may Like to Replicate the model of RK Mission.

Many Alumni now have shown their Entrepreneurial  Capacity.

Some Matters that Affect the Masses  especially  the poor  & the deprived are

In Field of Health , Education , Food Production

RK Mission has already Demonstrated  Models  of Excellence in all these.

Sanjeev Sinha will then invite Alumni members who are attending the session

to Start interacting with you directly , One by one

Method :Preferred . Raise Hands in Zoom or Type in Chat Box

If Time permits, I will then Moderator will put up additional questions  on behalf of the alumni

What we learned today . Key Take aways. Invite Other alumni to speak about some of their take aways from the session.

Invite one of The Alumni to Propose a Vote of Thanks eg Ritesh
